Meetings are held monthly and con- sist of discussions on current events and an occasional speaker. Since this was election year, the Forum, cooperating with the Stu- dent Council, conducted a campus straw vote in the presidential election. Concert Choir The Singing Corraliers, a se- lect group from the Concert Choir, donned western clothes to appear in the chapel proces- sion of Fiesta San Antonio. Other local performances were scheduled for the 16 member group. The Victoria College Concert Choir directed by Mrs. Ruth Williams presented se- lections throughout the school year which ranged from Handel ' s Messiah to De Camptown Races. They have travelled widely performing in such cities as Austin, San Antonio, and Port Lavaca. The Choir and Band jointly presented their first public concert in November; their last spring concert was held in May. The Concert Choir provided entertainment at all of the school assemblies and impressed high school stu- dents during Career Day. I thought we came here to sing. Science and Engineering Clubs An organization for Science majors, minors, and others in- terested in scientific experi- mentation and research, the Science Club encourages a broader knowledge and under- standing of the field which it represents. This year the Sci- ence Club experimented with a group project concerning elep- trophoresis, as a method of separating the components of ink and blood. A delegation at- tended the Texas Academy of Sciences meeting at Baylor University. German Club Students who have had at least one semester of either high school or college German are eligible for membership in the German Club. Pirate track entries have taken their place in the lime- light more than once. The 1065 season was no exception. In his third season as track tutor. Coach Monroe North- cutt once again presented a team bursting at the seams with talent. Even though the Bucs found a serious depletion in the field events, the sprinters, hurdlers and durable distance men piled u|) enough points for the Pirate crew to finish in the money in a majority of their meets. At the National Meet in Garden City. Kansas, the Bucs had to settle for second behind a powerhouse from Phoenix. Arizona, but Donnie Coker was named Outstanding Individ- ual Performer.
