That night we arrived in Helena, Montana and decided to shack up in the Harvey Hotel. Our adventure there was so much fun that we decided then and there that the Harvey Hotel was the place for our class reunion and the date was set for April 19, 1960. Let's look into the future across the five year span and see ourselves as we will be then. As we enter the lobby of the hotel we see that the same old desk clerk is still here. He seems to have recovered all his hair and health but from the look on his face it's not hard to see that some of the class mates have arrived before us. lt seems that Barbara Howell QTuckerl and Viola Blackburn have so many children that we can't get everyone in any one room so we will have our meeting in the lobby, The clerk doesn't mind, he fainted shortly after all the class arrived. Presiding over the meeting is our old pal Marlene fConnerj Jepson. Keith and Marlene were married a short time ago, just before Keith quit working. This may sound bad but Marlene manages to make a good living for them as a pilot for TWA Air- lines, Keith goes along for the free ride, As the meeting goes by we decide that we will meet here again in 1965. After a long speech from Bob Smith, who is now famous for his oratations, the meeting is called to a close, Bob, by the way, is also doing very well as a pitcher, He pitches hay on Gordon Mann's farm, when he's not practicing his speech on Crordon's pigs, Everybody has left the lobby now and gone to different rooms to talk over the past five years, so we'll wander around and talk with the beaks, . ln room 226 we find a few of the boys. Here's Lester Hinton, he's bragging about all the wonderful wild stallions he's caught and made tame on his ranch. His philospphy is: Let those fools risk their necks in those jets, l'll stick to my hosses. In the corner we find Marv Williamson and Porky Kerr croaking to each other, They've been Navy frogmen for so long that you must know frog talk to understand them, ln room 318 we find Barbara and all her kids, fRich says, Cheaper by the Dozens, D and a few of her friends. :Arlene Gibson tells met that she has really been successful as 21 model. So successful that President Ike Eisenhower is thinking of divorcing his wife, Mamie, to marry Arlene, Norma Brunner is working right here in Helena, She is secretary for the YMCA, She says her work never gets boring, in fact, she believes she has high blood pressure. This page is sponsored by Downing Pharmacy QRexa1l Drugj and Monterey Cafe, Hamilton 15 Now we'll go back to the second floor to room 212 where we find .Tim Mansfield throwing S20 bills out the window to the people on the streets. Jim is really a credit to our class, he has made millions as the president of the SHICK RAZOR COMPANY, Who's that at his feet? Why, it's Norma Williamson. She's begging him to throw some her way so that she can take Johnny Yates to a movie later in the evening. These two are really hitting it off well. Norma says John is the smartest man she knows now that he has been through Rocky Mountain College. John says that he finds it impossible to care for one who teaches school at old Victor High as Norma does. Over at the desk Kathy Kane and Merlyn Miller are playing poker. Kathy has won all Merlyn's money and is now wearing his shirt. This is not unusual because Kathy has made her living at this for the last four years. Merlyn has spent all these years playing pool at Rocky Mountain College in Billings. He's next up for champion of the girl's pool team. Last but not least we hear Muriel Kaufman telling of her millions of exciting adventurm with different men she has met. She has taken a career as a traveling saleswoman, In this job she says she is sure to find the man of her dreams someday, Above the chattering we hear a knock on the door and Muriel jumps up to answer it, Upon opening the door Muriel jumps back and faints across the bed, We all run to see what caused her to be scared and what do we behold but a whiskery, hunched back old man with his clothing all tattered and torn, and a very sad and sleepy look on his face. He looks us all over for a moment and then mumbles, Will you kids be quiet so an old man can sleep. We assured him we will and we also ask if he would mind telling us his name. My name, he says, Why, I'm I'm a broken down old school teacher, my name is Don Marsh!
