“Qfa55f3 Sfigfovpo The class of 'L8 entered their freshman year with twenty members. They were initiated and given a dance by the class of 'L7. Two weeks later they gave a'return dance to the sophomores. un entering the sophomore year the class consisted of the same members with the exception of Bill Covert, who transferred to Hamilton. This left the class with nineteen members. During the year Leona Higle, June Campbell, Doris Atwood, Tim Graham, and Vernon Personett dropped. The class, sponsored by Mrs. McCormick, initiated the class of 'L9 and gave a dance in their honor. Under the direction of Mrs. Sweitzer, they gave e oneract play entitled WLast Night's Peper.n They entered their junior year with fifteen members having lost Evelyn Harington and Rose Marie Rowe after their sophomore year. How- ever, Bill Covert rejoined the class and they were joined also by two new members. They were John Kunze and Carroll Mansfield. on November 2 they gave a Sadie Hawkins Dance and on November 27, a three-act comedy, 'Don't Keep Him Wa1ting,N was presented. The Junior Prom was given on April 18. There are sixteen seniors this year, Larry Briggs having Joined the class after dropping school one year. The officers of the class are: Don Ess, President, Carol Gingerich, Vice President, and Viola Schwaderer, Secretary-Treasurer. Un March 12 the seniors gave a dance with e St. Patr1ck's Day theme. The senior play, entitled WDrums of Death,' was presented April 23. Baccalaureate services were on May 23 and Commencement exercises on May 26. The class went to Medicine Springs all four years for their snring picnic. In the class there are seven seniors who have gone all twelve years together. They are: Don Ess, Joy Brown, Terry Maki, Bill Amos, Viola Simmons, Miles Winship, and Marian Riley. Two seniors, Viola Schwaderer and Dwane Clarke started with them in the first grade, but transferred to other schools for a few years and then returned to Victor to finish school with former classmates.
