Swan, H. Peglow. In football this year Victor has done exceptionally well. We had a very suc- cessful season even though we lost five players. We ,had to build a new team with only veteran Roger Brady returning. The team's successful year was due largely to the expert coaching of Carl Palumbo. The tiring hours of afternoon practice paid off throughout the season. We won five games but lost one to Phelps. This was our first loss in fourteen games. Our team showed excellent spirit and cooperation. Ken Winkler and Jim Ryan were chosen for the All Scholastic Team of our league.

The spirits were very high as the boys came up from their pep talk yelling Come on-let's go. The ability and good practice of sportsmanship should be good experience for these boys when they head the list as Victor's Varsity next year. 63 I .5 S. , r

Although they didn't win the championship, Coach Henehan considered last year's team one of the best Victor has had. Except for a few bad breaks they might well have come through with the championship. The season ended with six wins and two losses. Darv Pegelow and Dave Rector pitched, allowing no hits and no runs during one game. The other members of the team were: Don Pegelow, catcher, Darv Pegelow or Dave Rector at first baseg John Gullace at second base, Jim Cotter, a co-captain, at third baseg Ken Winkler as shortstopg Francis Underhill in right field, Myron Van Orman in left fieldg and Vernon Underhill, a co-captain, in center field. Other teamsters who saw play were: Larry Leavitt, Roger Brady, Harold Hess, Newt Smith, Dave McKeag, Alan Boughton, and Roger Pow- er. Although there will be many vacancies to be filled, the team hopes to come through with victory once more.
