BOARD OF EDUCATION Mr. Hawkins, Mr. Barry, President Ogden Miller, Mr. Bowerman, Mr. O'Brien, Principal Mr. Corbin Very few of us realize the time and effort given by the men on our Board of Education. They are the deciding factors in most of the issues concerning our school and upon them rests a great responsibility. We especially want to recognize and express our appreciation for the Work that the Board of Educa- tion has done on the new school building. We know that they have given many hours and a great deal of thought to this project. We wish to express our sincere thanks to the members of the Board of Education, for the manythings they have done for the educational interests ofthe stu- dents of Victor Central School. 9

T. W. O. MILLER PRESIDENT or :camo M. BARRY A. R. CORNFORD :Lenz or sonic R. L. HULBERT B' Victor Central School ALTON B. CORBIT, Suvenvlsmc-PRlNclPAL Victor, New York January ll, 1955 Dear Students: People in Victor will remember for a long time the occasion on which Governor Thomas E. Dewey visited our community just a few short years ago, and broke ground for the Throughway which now spreads itself across the breadth of our great State of New York. This tremendous undertaking is a far cry from the early 1800's when highways in our immediate area were, for the most part, barely discernible trails through the forests. we realize now that the Throughway is but a fore- runner to a vast network of such roads which will, of necessity, span our country in the years ahead, It is acute evidence of GROWTH and PROGRESS, hard to see sometimes because we live so close to it. How does one relate education to a theme of high- ways, you ask? Are you making a timid trail of your life? Are you distracted into going up blind alleys that lead nowhere? - OR - Are you building carefully the foundation for a six lane educational highway that will take care of 20th. century traffic? Here are some suggestions that may help you improve your personal highway construction job now: Do today's school work today, one step at a time. l. 2. Strive for a 10075 school attendance record. Participate actively in at least one school activity. M. Take an active part in class discussions. 5. Be cheerfully cooperative at home, at school, and at play. Develop your self-respect by having respect for your God, your family, and your friends. 3. 6. Sincerely yours, czQ1ae.cm Alton B. Corbit Principal ABC:LB
