It was an eager group of young space men who ascended the steps into the second story of the Gallup Block. In 19hl we moved to even greater heights both literally and figuratively when we graduated to the new school on the hill. For the next few years our studies seemed to be the same routine over and over, but in the seventh grade the pace quickened as we began to participate in the various activities in our curriculum. Then the storm really started, we became Freshmen. It was finally up to us to elect class officers and we selected Lee Semmler, Presidentg Dirk weigert, Vice-President: Marian Brake, Secretaryg Patricia Bowerman, Treasurer: and Shir- ley Braiman, Student Council representative. During this year we had a tag-day, many movies and we won third prize in the Halloween picture contest. Higher and higher we went. As Sophomores we elected Delores Stemp, Presi- dentg Dick Ryder, Vice-President: Marian Brake, Secretary, Patricia Bowerman, Treasurer: and Robert McCarthy, Student Council representative. Time flew rapidly on. We began our Junior year with a dynamic record sales of stationery and after the most important event of the year, our Junior Prom, we found that we were well on our way to having enough money to take our senior trip to New York City. Our officers this year were Delores Stemp, Presidentg Audrey Torquato, Vice-President: Anne Power, Secretaryg Patricia Bowerman, Treasurerg and Alan Bowerman, Student Council representative. At last our Senior year arrived. Our trip to New York was not far away now but the time went very slowly. The weeks dragged by into months but they were activity-packed months. Our class, headed by Shirley Braiman, Presidentg Alan Bowerman,Vice-Presisent, Patricia Criss, Secretary: Patricia Bowerman, Treasur- erg and Ann Bluhm, Student Council representative broke all magazine sales re- cords. The main events of the year were the WCandlelight Qalln and the senior play 'Our Miss Brooksn. Then the big day arrived and we went to New York. we hope that the classes which follow us will have as much fun and success as we have had in the past. 28

Stanley Basketb Aifiai Schantz, Alice Whittaker, Joyce Thleg, Beverly Frederioks, Shirley Braiman. as our Senior year sped on like a Rocket,we sudd- enly became aware that our biggest money making event, the Senior Play, was not toefar away. From our galaxy of talent we chose our best actors to become the milky way players. For our director we chose the best direc- tor of interplanetary plays, Miss Schantz. For our play we chose the sparkling comedy 'Our Miss Brooks'. For anyone but Miss Brooks the job of putting on a Senior play would have been a simple task, but not so with her. The play started out calm enough and it looked as though everything would go all right. But it was too good to last and before the end Hiss Brooks had to deal with a somewhat spoiled girl, Rhonda Allen: a very angry school board president, Mrs. Alleng and a very self eagcered principal, Hr. Wadsworth. To co - plicate matters even more the love bug bit both her and the male lead in the play, Ted Wilder. She fell in love with the athletic director, Hugo Longacre and Ted fell in love with the female lead Jane Drew. Everything worked out in the end and when the final curtain came down it was agreed that 'Our Miss Brooks' was one of the best plays Victor had ever seen. e e e s e eMarian Brake ...Audrey Torquato ...Patricia Criss ......Joyce Thiel ....Fenw1ck Small ......James Mead ......Joyce Power .....Connie Angelo .Patricia Bowerman ...Alice Whittaker ......Dor1s Peglow ...Shirley Braiman ...Beverley Frederick .
