As in every large enterprise, there are men behind the scenes who work quietly and efficiently and many times these people do not receive the praise and thanks they justly deserve. We most sincerely appreciate the work of the Board of Education of Victor Central School. You have given most generously of your time and effort and we want you to know that it is very greatly appreciated. 9

BOWERMAN , ' ff- 'gg-sgggen 1ctor Central School ALTON B. CORBIT, Suvenvlxmc PRINCWAI. Victor, New York Dear Students: A trip to the moon in the near future? Space suits for youngsters instead of Hopalong Cassidy suits? Rocket style space ships and guns that emit hideous sparks? Comic strips that are not comic but give startlingly re- alistic foreboding of things to come? These are but a few of the things that come to mind as one speculates on the theme of this year's yearbook. How rapidly scientific advancement is made! You students of world history can appreciate the hundreds of years of the middle ages in which no progress was made. Yet, in the short span of the first half of this century, man has taken such tre- mendous strides that he now talks in realistic terms of con- quering space in the not too distant future-probably within your lifetime, possibly within mine. One of you reading this letter MAY pilot or design one of these strange crafts. who knows? Perhaps, too, and this is a prayer, one of the students reading this may make a much more significant contribution. A contribution that is sorely needed. He may find a way by which man can learn to live, at peace, with his neighbor in a spirit of Christian fellowship. Because, although man is finding increasingly better ways of conquering his physical environment and consequently shrinking the size of his world. he has yet to come up with the formula teaching him how to love his neighbor. Sincerely yours, Alton B. Corbit, Principal ..---- A 8
