FOREWORD TABLE OF CONTENTS DEDICATION APPREGI ATION MEMORIAM ADMINISTRATION SNAPSI-IOTS SENIORS UNDEQCL ASS MEN SNAPSHOTS ACTIVITIES SNAPSI-IOTS SPORTS ADVERTISEME NTS 5 0 O MRS. ELEANOR BARRY We dedicate this 1950 issue of 'Bagel' to you, Mrs, Barry, to show our appreciation for all the assistance you have given us in the presentation of our yearbook. Three years ago you started a tremendous task when you helped the Class of 1948 publish Victor Central's first yearbook. Last year and this year you have continued to help us in com- pleting tvo more volumes of 'Bage1. Few people other than those on the yearbook staff real- ize the hours of planning and working which go into a year- book, We, the members of the Senior Class and the year-book staff, want you to know that we have appreciated all the guidance and service you have given us and we hope that the many hours you have spent working with us on the yearbook have been happy ones, 4 0 Q MISS MARGARET BROWNLEE In every production there is always someone behind the scenes to insure a superior performance. Working behind the scenes for the Senior Class has been a very well-liked and wonderful person. Her unselfish efforts in working for the betterment of the class have gone for the past two years seemingly unnoticed. But nevertheless, we, the Glass of 1950, sincerely appreciate Miss Brownlee. She has worked harder than any member of our class to make our projects successful. These few words of gratitude are little indeed in comparison with the fond place that Miss Brownlee holds in the hearts of the Class of 1950. 5 0 MISS NORMA OLNEY Long she lived among us, just being kind, Loving and serving through all her years 3 She gave to all whom she knew and loved, A faith, that brought hope out of their fears. She is not gone -- her spirit still livesg Pointing so true, the way upward and on To goals and purposes set in the hearts Of many a child, when. he was young. Pupils of hers still hold fast to their dreams, As they face toward the heights they hope to reaohy And hers were the hands that led them on-- Hers, the heart to inspire --- then, to teach. She laid no claim to riches or fame, Yet left us a legacy that Death oan't defyg A memory that lingers in the hearts of friends, Of a love that lives --- that can never die. The lessons she taught will ever remain: Her inspiration, lives -- a stepping stone To a higher, better, more glorious Life-- A living service beyond the tomb. -Berdina Voorhees Johnston 6 Hexg X . r 4 r .- , - ..- -- A fr li 1, YV- V .l'L 1. r 11 x i - V 1' s ' 2 f f 51151 552 , 7x ' Y f T 1 A 5 ' . 5 .xxx ,ffr xx 14 ' X, ,X X. ,,, V ,V x fr- ,,- 'aff if 3 fElX, 'f - 'zgf ,Y-14 15. Working quietly in the background, these men seldom receive the credit due them. Without the many hours of hard work during their meetings and on their own time, the many advantages which are now ours could not have been achieved. This page offers us an opportunity we do not often have. On behalf of the student body of Victor Central, the Senior Class would like to express its appreciation and gratitude to our Board of Education. 9 First Row 1 Second Rows Third Row 2 JW M . The lights were dimmed and the audience grew quiet as the curtain. was raised to reveal a dark and forboding stage of mystery. The mysterious Master who inhabited the old mansion entered the tower room through the secret staircase and captured Myra Vernon, a beauti- ful young girl who was looking for hidden treasure there. What mystery! Kate and Jack Chalice Qeieter and brotherj entered the house which they had :Ln- herited from an eccentric uncle end made their way up to the tower room. Here we learn that Jack is a writer and that Kate is romantically interested in Jack's backer, Kennedy Ellsworth, As Jack sets out to write a new mystery plot he is given all sorts of' ideas by the continuous stream of myster- ious incidents that occur in the tower room where he is trying to work. One of these disturbances comes in the form of a beautiful young girl, Myra Vernon, who Jack becomes very interested in. Three plotting servants, Matilda, Emily, and Andrew, add to the confusion by planning to rid the house of its new owners. The entrance of Mrs. Barrett, a crazy woman and her keeper, lhrtin, add more bits of comedy and suspense to the scene. In the end the cast finds out that Ken has hired the Master and his wives to give Bill a few realistic suggestions for his book, including the 'Master's Kiss Of Deathn. The servants are captured and the nvstery comes to a grand finis. Helm This group meets week- ly to learn the art of cooking. The delicious odors that come from the homemaking room each week and the healthy appearance of the club members are sufficient testimonials to their culinary technique. Harold Kesel recently upheld the club's standing by' being selected as the only boy winner in a local apple pie baking contest. The advisor and in- structor for this group is Miss Sion. We finally got our long awaited sport at Victor. The School Board bought fifteen brand new football uniforms and the boys worked hard on laying out a regulation football field. We obtained a faithful coach in Carl Palumbo. Mr. Palumbo spent much time in teaching the boys the fundamentals of football. He had a hard time in molding a team because of the small number of boys, and the short time he had. The squad had a high spirit and fought right to the end in every game. The members of the squad elected Gene Fritz and Jim Antonio co-captains to head the squad in 1949. Gene Fritz led the team in scoring with five touchp downs. .
