EDITORIAL by James Seay ln America, the youth has a duty ---- that of safeguarding all that is worthwhile of traditions. We need to sell to the present world our brand of freedom. Freedom must inspire us to work for this goal. The youth of today must have the will power to go forward holding high the ideals of true Americanism. Our youth must build a better world for tomorrow, aworld and a Nation we can be proud to say we are a part of. America must not allow any Nation or government to destroy our ideals of freedom to live, to work, and to serve God as we desire. Only when the individual is free to grow, to invent, to dream futures and see visions of a better tomorrow will he fi.nd the pro- gram which he seeks and which he deserves. This generation looks with hopeful eyes to the future--a future in which youth has been schooled in patriotism and inspired to rise to a higher plane of thinking, acting, and living. We must not lose sight of the fact that when democracy dies, freedom also dies. America expects us to carry the torch of democracy. We must take our knowledge, our skills, and our ideals and put them to work--build a better world, a world where no man is at war, no man need be hungry, and all mankind is free from fear.
