1985 Dedication: Beverly Brasell Act well your part: there all the honour lies. MOTTO OF THE INTERNA- TIONAL THESPIANS For the past ten years, Beverly Brasell has attempted to instill in her students at Vestavia the ideals of dedication, commitment, and honor which she so well exemplifies. Miss Brasell graduated from the Universi- ty of Montevallo and then received her MA from the University of Ten- nessee. Currently, she teaches speech and theater and sponsors the stage crew and the International Thespians Troupe. She has produced twenty major stage productions while at Vestavia including the dramas The Diary of Anne Frank, The Miracle Worker, and Ten Little Indians, and the musicals Oklahoma, George M!, and My Fair Lady. She also started the outdoor theater productions in the spring of 1980. Behind the scenes. Miss Brasell works long hours to ensure the suc- cess of programs, assemblies, beauty pageants, and even visits from Vice- Presidents. Such hard work is also what she expects and demands from her students. And though they sometimes affectionately refer to her as The Beast, it is with respect and admiration that they attempt to meet her demands. For Miss Brasell teaches her students so much more than the principles of speaking and acting; she teaches them principles of living — devotion, confidence, belief in self, and dignity. It is these same principles which are so obvious to the audiences at the school ' s theater pro- ductions, both technically and thematically. And so, because she has acted so well her part, we proudly dedicate the 1985 Reveille to Miss Beverly Brasell.
