It serves as the life thread for an age in which it is fashionable to tell it like if is. This Spirit pervades the Class of '74. It is part of each individual's emerging personality. It will become part of the heritage of Vestavia Hills High School. Without it wo have nothing upon which to build or add. This is the gift of the Senior Class of '74 to the hundreds yet to come — a vibrant Spirit of involvement, scholarship, and awareness of one's fel-lowman. 178 seniors Enjoy Being Abernathy, Eleanor Lynn Anderson, James Lawson III Ballord, Donald Moore Jr. Barnett, Billy David Bates, Jacqueline Benton, Barbara Lee Bidez, Jeanne Marie Bierchen, John Michael Bissot, Sylvester Cleghorne III Black, Robert Gerald Jr. Blackerby, Ruth Louise Blankenship, Carol Susan Bodine, Carol Ann Bofeler, Barbara Bottomley, Mary Jane Boulware, Molly Rae Bowers, Martha Elizabeth Boyce, John Bozeman, Jennifer Mildred Bradford, Walter Deal 179 by Studying More About Their Pas Brown, Alisa Dawn Bruce, Charles Maxwell Jr. Brumback, Sandra Burke, Anita Byrd, Laura Ann Caddell, Cynthia Jean Caillouet, Janet Diane Calk, Mark Colin Cammack, Cleaphais Lee Campbell, Kathy Eileen Campbell, Susan Carol Cantieny, Deborah Suzanne Carter, Gordon Thomas Cashion, Alan Blake Chambers, Debra Gay Channell, Janet Clara Chapman, John Paul Chisum, Jackie Sue Christie, Loro Jean Clark, William Theodore III mproving on the Now, Closen, James Stephen Clay, Barry Carlton Cobb, Fredrick Marquis Cook, Dennis Jimmerson Cook, Terry Allen Cooper, Pamela Joyce Copeland, Margaret Lynn Cordell, Sue Corretti, Melanie Kim Cory, Ernest Cost, William Paul Jr. Cotten, Sandro Kaye Craft, Steven Joseph Creekmore, Gail Edward Crim, Cecilia Ann Cross, Kenneth Alan Cunningham, Sara Jeanne Davis, Carol Ann Davis, Glenn Lee Dekle, Thomas Sebastian 181 and Looking Forward to the Future I olwoyt wonted to be a cheerleader Corol Gordon Seniors with the Spirit Stick for the lost time 182 Seniors Mature for Oncoming Years Dolce, Jeffrey Joseph Donaldson, Horry Montgomery Jr. Dorris, Evelyn Jenise Dorris, Myro Denise Duke, Patricia Jane Duncan, Liba lyn Eanes, Elizabeth Helen Easterwood, John Carlton Echols, Julia Ann Ellis, Thomas Marshall Jr. Evons, Nancy Jean Fairer, Deborah Ann Faust, Kirk Berry Faust, Tracy Diane Ferguson, lindo Groce Fernabucq, George Richard Fleming, Ronald Steven Frawley, William Spencer Freeman, Sue Frances Gaines, Mark Louis 183 Becoming Involved in Society, Cooch Morgon told u to hore Jiml (Ed Huffmon) Motown wont ME? The selling of candy and key chains helped a great deal in preparing for the Prom. Tho Junior class has been able to unite to do the projects in order to bring about a good Junior-Senior Prom. Thanks goes to Mrs. lovoy for her help, and to Mrs. Willmore for being a great Junior class sponsor, and making this Junior year one worth remembering. Juniors Remember. . . This occasion is one of great accomplishment and joy with an underlying tinge of sentiment and sadness. We are proud that you have completed your high school education at Vestavia Hills High School. Of the many bits of knowledge etched in your mind during the past four years we hope, more than anything else, that an attitude toward life has developed within you that will see you through future successes as well as crises and problems. The youth of today certainly faces problems no other generation has faced. But past generations have faced problems equally as challenging which you will never encounter. Opportunities dre never ending, and your responsibility toward yourself and society has just begun. It is hard to be a responsible person but easy to fall into the many facets of irresponsibility. Equip yourself with all the education possible. Add your common sense, a genuine feeling for other people — hopefully even love — and your journey through life should be challenging, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, but never boring! The only real status symbol is your attitude toward yourself. All others are merely by-products. YOU are the most important person in the world. Our most heartfelt wishes for a useful and happy life, and may God bless you in your journey. John T. Scates, Mayor Councilmen James A. (Jim) Benton, Chairman Patrick H. (Pat) Boone Lester H.
