Championship for the second consecutive year with a record of 8 wins and no losses. The team's success was built upon its devastating defense, which held the opposing teams to a total of 25 points, and driving offense which tore through defenses and scored an amazing 267 points. Vestal placed eight players on the All- S.T.A.C. team this year. They are sen- iors Matt Olenski, Bob Vanderburg, Dave Drew, fselected as Player of the yearj, Warren Plymale, Ted Oliver, Jon Myers, junior Mike Kacher and sophomore John Schultz. Tiberio, R. Kristoff. The 1968 soccer team, under Coach Herrick, had a fine but frustrat- ing year. Vestal, led by captains Ron Blaha, Bob Tiberio, Gary Hunter, and Rich Kristoff, the second highest scorer in Section IV, racked up a 7-3-2 S.T.A.C. record and an 8-4-4 overall record. We tied for third place with arch-rival U-E. However, the season did have its spectacular moments, a 3-2 victory over Southern Cayuga, the de- fending Section IV champs, and a 4-0 romp over Ithaca, this yearis S.T.A.C. and Section IV champs. Although the team was able to beat these league-leading teams, they were unable to pull victories out of some of the less important games. The following players were named to the All S.T.A.C. first and sec- ond teams: D. Dufty, R. Kristoff, G. Hunter, P. Sterritt, and B. Tiber- io. 66 Vestal .... Special acknowledge- ment is given to the teachers who instilled in us the knowledge we so anxiously sought. We look to the future with anticipation and the desire that we may utilize the knowledge we have acquired at Vestal. This year, under the leadership of Bob, Lori, Pam and Ray, we worked towards this goal by adding to our treasury with proceeds from a dance and other fund-raising projects, and by participat- ing in the Spring Carnival. Mr. Buran says we're the most well-behaved class in the school when we enter and leave the au- ditorium. N 3 B 10 H lb o 15 71 19 22 12 18 20 24 25 17 13 1. K. Baker 2. D. Batley 3. C. Armstrong 4.
