Anna Strong We, the Senior Class of 1953, dedicate this, our yearbook to Miss Anna Strong. We believe as a person and as a teacher she is unsur- passed. She has instilled in her students a love of country, a sense of fairness, honesty and integrity. Returning students deem it a privilege to greet her again. In her the qualities of ateacher are best depicted. She unselfishly gives of her time and herself not only to the students, but to the school also. We feel fortunate to have had her as a teacher and as a friend. As we leave Vestal, our wish for her is one of continued success, and for us, that she remain the same Miss Strong.

Foreword In this book, Chapter One of our Book of Life , is revealed the happiness, sadness, excitement, and despair of our never-to-be- forgotten high school days. You may find, therein, the character traits which distinguish us as individuals. This chapter shows the development of our ability to take our places in this living, unpredictable world, for through its pages we have acquired the qualities necessary for bearing the responsibilities of life. Although we have written our first chapter under guidance, we deeply realize that we must begin now to write the remainder of the Book of Life on our own. We shall discover the innumberable opportunities available ln this free America for broadening our horizons, for awakening new and fertile interests, and for demonstrating our abilities. We know the past, we are experiencing the present, but the future is dim and dis- tant. We shall, however, strive to meet it with the thought, under- standing, and common sense we have thus far acquired.
