Students of Vestaburg, for the first time, were honored to be hosts to two brilliant, talented foreign exchange stud- ents. Bente Foelckel's(Germany) American parents were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Johnson, of Vestaburg. We'll always remember her friendly smile and cheerful spirit. Gustavo Vargus'(Columbia) American parents were Mr. and Mrs. Art Throop of Vestaburg. We all enjoyed teaching Gus English as much as we liked learning some Spanish. While here, Gus and Bente both at- tended U.S. History class to learn about our country. Gus' other classes were: Physics, English, Anatomy and Physio- logy, Trigonometry and Math Analysis, Psychology, Basic Writing and Teen Lit. Bente's days consisted of Artll, Business Math, P.E.III, P.E.IV, Short Story, Jour- nalism, Government and Economics. While in Journalism class Bente was involved in publishing the school newspaper. Thank you Gus and Bente, for bright- ening up the halls of Vestaburg Highl 3

DEDIG AT EES MRS. PATRICIA CHRISTENSEN As the editors of the yearbook, we would like to thank Mrs. Patricia Christensen in this way. She has dedicated a good nart of her life as a teacher at Vestaburg Community Schools. She has given one of the most valuable things in life, her time, unselfishly to teaching stu- dents English and Spanish. She has soent many hours working with stu- dents in the Spanish Club, who are earning money to go to Mexico. You have given so much Mrs. C. that this seems a very small way of say- ing Thank You’’. Even though this is the last of a Spanish Club, we'll remember, with gratitude, the many things you have done for us. THANK YOU MR. PHIL FRISBIE 2 The name of Phil Frisbie Frisbie is well known in the Vestaburg community as well as in all of Montcalm County. Mr. Frisbie was raised in Stanton and, except for his art schooling in California, has taught in this area for many years. Not only is Mr. Frisbie known for his teaching, but he and his wife raised 2 sons here in Vestaburg;he drove bus for the Vestaburg Schools; and he is active in the Vestaburg Church of Christ. His support for the Vestaburg Wolverines is shown by the artwork on the Pressbox overlooking the football field and by the Wolverine which is on dis- nlay in the high school gym. We, the members of the Annual Staff, would like to publically thank Mr. Phil Frisbie for all of the years of dedicated service and caring he gave as a teacher and friend to the people in the Vestaburg community.
