.♦ VESTABURG HIGH SCHOOL VHS INSPIRATIONS EDITOR'S NOTE The years ahead of me will he filled with challenges which I have never exper- ienced before. It will be a time where I will set new goals, explore the future and strive for the conquest of success. These will be my times, filled with the fact that I will have to face the new uncertainty and undecision on what steps to take. Sharon Davis Editor WE PROUDLY DEDICATE We, the Seniors of Vestaburg High, Class of '77, would like to dedicate, in your honor our 1977 yearbook, VHS INSPIRATIONS. Reasons, being so many that even many complete pages would not be room enough to honor you. We would like to name just a few things you have done for us. First of all, your TIME. Time is so precious and you took so much of yours and gave it to us. Without your help, the Senior Trip would not be as successful. Just keeping account of our money from our projects to earn our way to the Bahamas was enough. But you did't give up at that. You arranged all our projects and kept track of every detail. You made us feel very grateful to you, which in turn gives us respect for ourselves. All that you have done makes us feel like individuals, which is important to a person. You have had alot of patience with us, and we are really thankful for that. A person who teaches Math all day long, week after week, and uses every spare minute to work on our projects, deserves this honor and more. THANKING YOU, MR. JAMES HODGES THE CLASS OF '77 CLASS MOTTO You see things; and say why? But I dream things that never were; and were; and I say why not? LONG TIME It's been such a long time I think I should be going. Stauner -Vice President Phillip R. Erskin Trustee Arthur Stratton President Mary Jean Borton Secretary Andrew Alexander Trustee Kendall Neitzel Treasurer Raymond Bollinger Trustee Dear Graduating Seniors, Keats Wood Superintendent My theme this year is the same as in 1976. We are still in need of additional space to house students. You are a close link to the problem and the solution. Your voice to parents and friends can speak much more persuasively about the over-crowded cafeteria and kitchen, auto shop, classrooms, library. Home Econ- omics space, science space, band space. Remedial Reading space. Resource Room space, athletic storage space, and custodial supply space. As a voting citizen of this school district, you can now take an active part in the solution of this problem. I hope your years at Vestaburg have been meaningful and that you have been prepared to meet your journey with life. May I extend my very best wishes.to you. Sincerely, Keats R. Wood Allen Smith, Principal Norma Narragon, Virginia Freeman, Neoma Wood. Secretaries. To the Class of '77: It is hoped that during your stay at Vestaburg, you have accomplished many things: (l) Gained some knowledge, (2) Learned how to live with one another in a peaceful manner, (3) Learned to understand that others are different, with different values, beliefs, and attitudes, and (U) Gained self-respect and self- confidence. I am proud to be associated with your class and wish you well being, lots of luck, and many warm fuzzies in your new school of hard knocks and battered bruises.
