Vestaburg High School 1972-73 In Dedication To The Senior Band For their achievements they have gained this past year and the school spirit they have displayed. The senior band of 1972-73, for the first time in the history of the Vestaburg School, received straight I ratings at both the District and State Band Festivals. The senior band of 1972-73 has been the main supporter of school spirit for many years. Without the enthusiasm of this band our school and school spirit would suffer badly. SENIORS KIM WALDRON was named salutatorian of the senior class of '73' with a grade point average of 3. 811. Kim has been accepted and plans to further her education at Central Michigan University. a I U t a I e d i c t 0 r • 1 a n BRUCE WOOD was selected as valedictorian of the sen- ior class of '73' with a grade point av- erage of 3.919. Bruce has been accept- ed at Olivet College to further his education. Class Flower: Red and White Roses Class Colors: Light Blue and Navy Blue Class Motto: I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and love today. CLASS POEM Make us a Channel of Your Peace Make us a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us bring your love. Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord, And where there's doubt, true faith in you. Make us a channel of your peace. Where there's despair in life, let us bring hope. Where there is darkness, only light And where there's sadness, every joy. Oh, Master grant that we may never seek So much to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand. To be loved, as to love, with all our souls. Make us a channel of your peace. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned. In giving to all men that we receive, And in dying that we're born to eternal life. Don't be ashamed of tears, of anger or of fears. For they're a part of you and you're alive. Climb mountains while you may, and sing your songs. Start living every day, it won't be long Before you turn around, and wonder where life's gone. Go firmly through the night, but go in peace. Know for yourself what's right, keep all your goals in sight, For they're a part of you and you're alive. Climb mountains while you may, and sing your songs. Start living every day, it won't be long Before you turn around, and wonder where life's gone. Walk bravely through each day, and go in pride. Show that you know the way in things you do and say, For they're a part of you and you're alive. Climb mountains while you may, and sing your songs. I'm sure some of the 30 students who were lost along the way will eventually graduate. However, the 1 3 who dropped out is much too high. This problem is one which perhaps we should all address our energies in solving. To those of you who remained, we salute you. Your achievements through leadership, responsibility, and responsiveness are notable. I'm sure the experiences and exposures thus far attained will be valuable tools in helping to solve your future problems. May you have continued success and happiness and if the doors to success don't open, PUSH! Keats R. Wood e n d e n t 20 F r o m T h e Usually a high school graduation is a time for hearty congratulations so I will say con- gratulations to you, the Seniors, for your extended perseverance throughout your school years. By your prolonged dedication and hard work you have finally completed twelve years of public schooling. In earning a high school diploma you are allowing yourselves a good opportunity to start your adult lives in a positive manner. I believe most people would agree that the attainment of a worthwhile life is not usu- ally attributed to luck but to planning and working toward certain goals and objectives. This aim, when realized will allow a person to fulfill themselves as a distinct, worth- while individual in our very complex contemporary society. Gaylord A.
