Wolves 1971-72 EDITORS NOTE: In the past years, the yearbook staff has been presenting our school with fairly good yearbooks, but the students aren't satisfied. They want something different, something better. This year our staff has made many efforts to improve this yearbook by correcting the mistakes of the past. We hope you are pleased with our efforts. Sincerely, Dana Johnson 1972 Editor In Memory Of Charles Greenman Many people will recall his cheerful Hi each morning, and although considered to be the quiet type, Charlie could always make himself heard at pep assemblies and our games. Charlie always backed his team to the fullest and when selected as Manager of the Basketball team, he dedicated himself to performing the task. How many Chemistry students will ever forget Charlie's historic Soap Volcano ? Charlie, we miss you and wish we could have gotten to know you better. KNOW IT'S A FRIGHTENING THOUGHT. MY DEAR. CLASS COLORS PURPLE AND WHITE CLASS POEM If a man does not keep pace with his companion, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears. However measured or far away. Henry David Thoreau 16 CLASS SONG DESIDERATA Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for al- ways there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business af- fairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be your- self. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. We must apologize for this, but when the rest of the group pic- tures were taken, the baseball team was not completely organized. So, we had to reproduce this from a color photo which obviously is not a good practice. At any rate, the baseball team deserved some credit for the outstanding season they had, and for earning a trophy. (Trophy is on page 53. ) Congratulations, guys, for a fantastic season.
