Text from Pages 1 - 88 of the 1969 volume:

Wolverine 1969 This year has been eventful, filled with tears and laughter. Many memories have been etched in the minds of the graduating class of 1969. These memories will not be easily fcygotten. The Annual Staff and I wish them the best of luck in the future and give them, and their underclassmen, this book of memories. Lynn Welch Editor In the past seven years the Students, faculty, and community surrounding Vestaburg High School have watched a man progress from a teacher and unknown employee, to an outstanding administrator and friend of the community. Both he and his wife have devoted long hours of teaching and coaching to the students of V.H.S. For this reason we dedicate the 1969 Wol- verine to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ingalls and son Dougie. To- day's students are better prepared to set forth than any in history. They are healthier, better educated, stronger physically and seem to be able to com- municate with society better than earlier generations. The students today challenge schools and communities to provide the necessary incentives and motivations to keep them functioning at maximum efficiency. Our present student body is made up of a collection of individuals that have a capacity to achieve and meet goals, that not long ago were not even considered. I at- tribute this to the fine teaching staff and I am sincerely very proud to be as- sociated with our fine school and community. Edward J. Barry, Supt. I feel especially close to the graduating class of 1969. I am sure we share the same mixed emotions about the past and future: proud and happy about our accomplishments, and very apprehensive about the future. With a con- tinued education and faith in God , I am sure we will all reach our goals. Best of Luck to the graduates. We have traveled a long way down this path And our goal is close in sight Our feet tread on Our heads are high To reach the goal To finish the fight. We can't be to boastful, to bold, or to proud For this trip was not traveled alone. For along this path we were Molded and shaped, And in wisdom and knowledge we have grown. We have trudged through many a heart ache, Many a tear, and foe, But we must lead onward for tomorrow Into the future we must go. Not always has it been this way, There have been brighter days. Parents have guided, friends have helped, Teachers gave counsel along the way. We leave behind the key to success To those who follow after us, so their Journey will be fruitful and guided from above, Held in a solemn trust. Now we must lead onward, Into a world full of trials, But we are prepared. For today is yours Tomorrow is ours!
