Text from Pages 1 - 88 of the 1968 volume:

1968 Wolverine The Wolverine Staff of 1968 sought to present a more accurate involved picture of the true events of the 1967-68 school year. We hope to have accomplished this by the use of more candid pictures o' school activities and a different style of arrangement. June Lester Editor Pasche P. Silvert We dedicate the 1968 Wolverine to Dr. Silvert for the support and service he has given the school and community through the years, as a citizen and a doctor. The staff wishes him success in his new en- deavors. Our loss is Florida's gain. 2 STORY OF THE YEAR Carnival! ! ! Remember Zelda, I can BlackMail you. EECH! What is it Holly, the Punch or Bob?? The record might very easily have been (5-3) if not for some costly injuries. The main tasks of 1968 will be replacing senior John Bray, and eliminating costly mistakes. All-Staters, Don Mortensen and Roger Chase will lead the Wolverines in quest for their first Motor Valley D league title in 1968. On behalf of the coaching staff, cheerleaders, and team, I would like to thank the Wolverine fans for their support in 1967. Coach Jack Ingalls TOP. T Thum.D.Ma B.Bray, R. Mortensen, J. Bray, H. Just before us there awaits our path to gently guide us along our way. What way do we go on this journey of life? At this moment what can we say? Oh, how we've looked for this path searching harder each day with amusement and pride. How will we travel it, each of us know who is earnest and who's for the ride. In coming up and along through each passing year we've traveled a number of ways. First we crawled and stumbled, but becoming assured have strode proudly up to this day. And that brings us up to this moment divine as we stand at the fork of the stream. Yes, soon we will choose which direction to go and flow on inspired by our dreams. But before we plunge into the future ahead we must pause for a moment and thank those who have led. Our parents and teachers who've always been there to help us with troubles and show us they care. When all of the world went rushing along engrossed in the business of societies throng. You weren't too busy for questions and such YOU stopped and listened, we thank you so much. Oh class when we part now nostalgically glad lets not forget the times that we've had. The laughs and the chuckles, the spats and the tears, learning together with each passing year. And now, as we prepare to walk from these doors out onto our paths to take flight and soar. To those who now follow and step into our shoes, WE HAVE FOUND OUR PATH AND HAVE LEFT ONE FOR YOU. Many individuals have contributed their time and efforts to make the school as it is today. A major contribution has come from the faculty and staff. Their persistence to improve community relations and school curriculum are paying high dividends. The administration and staff are very proud of our student accomplishments. Our school will continue to im- prove with the constant effort of our students and teachers and with the continued support of our community. If the future deals with us kindly as the past has done, life will be very good indeed. Prosperity is like parking places—there is always lots of it for the fellow who gets there first. s u p E R I N T E N D E N T S S E C R E T A R I E S Mrs. Wood Mrs. Nokes On June 7, 1968, you will reach an important goal in your lives. The high school diploma that you mil re- ceive qualifies you for a wide range of job possibilities. Most all job descriptions require a high school diploma as a minimum requirement for application. Now more important, are you qualified? Physically, mentally, and socially, are you the best applicant. These are questions that only time can answer. . ,m,„n,u0r™Tn)rurMT The point I would like to have you remember is that the high school diploma is a MINIMUM REQUIRtMhNI and not a MAXIMUM. Only YOU can change your certification and qualifications, and the only way they may be changed is through continued education. Best of luck to the Class of 1968.
