What Am I Doing? Mr. Alger E. Demorest, Principal A recent survey conducted by interested educators found that the following reasons were given for young people being discharged from their jobs. Ranking first was the lack of specific skills, followed closely by Non-Cooperation, Care- lessness, Laziness, Lack of Ambition, Dis- honesty and Lack of Courtesy. What are you doing to develope a skill to be used in later life? What type of character re- ference are you building while attending high school? What importance do you place on good attendance? Do you spend your time wisely? Are you getting the most possible value from your high school career or just slipping by in order to graduate? These are questions I hope each student will ask themself before beginning the fall team of 1963-64. Best Wishes and Good Luck for a successful and happy year. Alger E. Demorest Mrs. Leah Harris and Mrs. Paula Chapman Secretaries 5

Mr. J. D. Scoby, Superintendent Mrs. Eva Nokes, Secretary Upon education of today's youth rests the future develop- ment of the automated-space era. No other time in history has the challenge of science been available to so many youth. Youth should look towards a college education if their interests are to serve and lead their country towards the bet- ter life to come. Youth who are interested in the technical field of the service and business areas are needed badly. Every youth trained today for any service area could be placed into a job tomorrow. Education in any area is the key that will unlock any door. May I say best wishes for the success of our under- graduates and to our graduates. J. D. Scoby 4
