Senior Class History On one history making day, ten bashful scholars climbed the stairs of the Vesper High School. These scholars included: Vera Hiitter, Laura Huhl, Clyde Wacker, Greg Heinze, Georgie Sheldon, Sharon Jensen, Warren Mannel, Allen Serrien, John Wiebke, and Dennis Nelson. After the second week in September, we were initiated by the Seniors, and honored by a dance later in the evening. During the football season, we sold concessions at the home games. The ice cream cranking in the evenings and the cleaning of the pop corn machine were laborious but eventually rewarding tasks. As Sophomores, we had become used to the book throwing and door slaming between classes. We were now ready to settle down to the routine of high school. In November, we were host to the Sophomore Sock Hop. After the last day of school, we said nau revoiru to Allen, for this would be his last year at Vesper. By the time we were Juniors, we had achieved the rank of Nupper-classmenn. The highlight of the fall was our Junior play, NAunt Cathie's Catn. Later in the year, we held our Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet. The theme was WAqua Paradiseu with a color scheme of aqua and royal purple. ln the 1965-66 school year, we started things off right by officiating at the initiation ceremonies where we were entertained by the delightful Freshmen. During the basketball season, our team won first place in the league, district, and regional tournaments, and went to State for the first and last time. Later in May, nine eager Seniors left Vesper with their sponsors Mr. and Mrs. Crosley for the Ozarks. During this trip, we visited JoyLand in Wichita and stayed a few days in Kansas City. Money for our trip had been accumulated through four years of hard work, climazed by a magazine sale our Senior year. In the twelve years that we have attended school, we have learned much and participated in many things. We owe much to our patient teachers and persistant parents who have labored days and nights to prepare us for the future. After graduation and in the years to come, all of us will go our separate ways. Many will go to college or to business schools, some will find jobs. But whatever happens, we hope that we may put our education to use in a way that will benefit many. Senior Class Will 'We, the GRADUATING CLASS OF 1966, of the City of Vesper, County of Lincoln, Commonwealth of Kansas, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking any will or wills here- tofore made by the class of 1966.
