This command is one of the familiar ones that the men of the First Division hear so often in the execution of their duties. The duties of the men of the deck force are many and varied and encompass all points of the seamanship compass. The salty boat- swains mates of the deck divisions seem to have all the knowledge of the ages of seagoing men at their fingertips. Refueling, replenishment, lifeguard details, RID de- tails, piping the side. . .these are but a few of the chores these men face daily.
