The task of preparing a lunch program for an entire school is not an easy one. Well-balanced meals help students do their best work. Proper credit must be given to our cooks, Mrs. Mildred Miller, Mrs. Ethel Wulbur, Mrs. Esther Strausbaugh, Mrs. Mary Hecht, and Mrs. Betty DeMange who spend much time planning and preparing our daily school lunches. Likewise, the task of being a school custodian is not an easy one. The word custodian literally means, “guardian” or “keeper” and our custodians are indeed the keepers of our school. The atmosphere of a school contributes much to the output of its students and our custodians, Mr. Joe Varner and Mr. Webb NlcEldowney, certainly provide us with a clean and efficient one in which to work. Have vou ever wondered what it would be like to walk 10 or 15 miles to school in all kinds of weather? Without our bus drivers, this statement could become a reality for our rural students. We certainly owe a debt of gratitude to our bus drivers who give up their time and energy in the best interests of Versailles students. 17

I said. Who will pick up the clothes, not the Strok's'! Language—written or spoken—is the means of communicating a feeling or thought. Through his English and speech classes, a student learns the best ways to express himself. Our English and speech teachers do their best in teaching us the language skills we will need for the future. Communication also involves learning the languages and cultures of foreign lands. Students in past years have enjoyed French I and II, and Latin I and II. This year, Spanish I was added to the curriculum. The Spanish students will continue their studies with Spanish II next year. 19 Hey Vicky, I don't see anything about a TIGER in this script!
