DECLAMATIONS Every year the public speaking students, under the direction of Mr. Fields, enter the statewide Prince of Peace contests, sponsored by the Ohio Council of Churches. This year eighteen students participated in these contests from Versailles. The local winners were: Carolyn Ruschau, Carol Crooks, Carol Niederkorn, and Brenda Trittschuh. These students went on to the County Contests. Versailles swept the county with three winners and one alternate, Carol Crooks. From there the three winners went to sweep the district contest. Carol Niederkorn won her district contest and went on to the semi-finals at Columbus. We wish to congratulate these girls and we know that V. H. S. is proud of them. —13—
