LATIN CLUB On June 24 to 26 the National Convention of the Junior Classical League was held at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Two freshmen, Angela Ehrenfried and Arlene Brown attended this convention. They had an informative and enjoyable time. In September the 39 members of this year’s Junior Classical League met at Ward Park for its first gathering which was a -picnic. In October the sophomores entertained the freshmen at a Halloween Party. Prizes were given for the best dressed masqueraders. November marked formal initiation of the freshmen into the Junior Classical League. This was an impressive candle light ceremony. When the initiation was over the sophomores entertained the freshmen with a play about Roman school boys having to learn English. Refreshments were served later. On December 19 the Junior Classical League had a Saturnalia party at Mrs. Hensel’s home. The members had to perform charades to get their gifts from under the Saturnialia tree. Christmas carols were sung in Latin. All in all the Junior Classical League members are having an enjoyable year.
