We were a prom1s1ng group of students even 1f we were as green as grass and so awed by 1t all' We were the were not long the smallest class because several students from GraVO1SJO1n6d us Durlng that year Kathryn Fr1sb1e was elected as our queen We ended our freshman year W1th a p1cn1c at Flre Tower Durlng our sophomore year many of us took part ln the entertalnnfment of the Jumor Sen1or Banquet as Show Boat Players Joann W1ll1ams was chosen as class queen One of the enjoyable events of that year was our trlp to Kansas Clty Our jumor year was another successful year We chose Clarence Cam and LuAl1ce Kldwell as class kmg and queen Our carn1val queen and klng were LuAl1ce K1dwell and Uel Chasteen May 6 1949 was a b1g day for all upper classmen for that was the day of the .Tumor Sen1or Banquet We worked hard had fun and put over a very successful banquet centered on the theme The Clrcus Mlss Lehnnan and Mlss Ball were our sponsors The last treat of that year was a p1cn1c at Gravo1s Beach Senlors at last' We actually felt a llttle lost and bewlldered the flrst few weeks of school but we soon became accustomed to It Mr McCubb1n and Mr Nelson were our sponsors Thelma Sldebottom was chosen as our sen1or queen The Junlors gave us a lovely banquet and we want them to know how much we appreclated the tlme andwork spent Now It s t1me for us to depart from the halls and classrooms of V H S to take our place 1n the world of tomorrow We want to thank our teachers who have helped us weather the storms wh1ch always led to clearer hor1zons We know we ve been trylng at tlmes but you ve been wonderful and we appreclate all you ve done 17 qi J, ss 1 - i I I . 2435 ff J 'fig ,b , fy 2 Q D q ',n, I . . . . . . , , . . .
