M ft .L T ,..Qm1-'X -HW L- ' 'h 4 5 CLASS Ill TIIRY brought about a welcome change in gym apparel. The sports were highlighted by Clark, Flynn, Kephart and Gillen who were awarded medals for outstanding accomplish- ments in track. Gillen, set the Suburban Conference record for discus throwing. We also captured Suburban Conference and State titles in football. As a farewell to the senior class and an incentive to the underclassmen the Verona Chapter of the National Honor Society was formed. The Iunior charter mem- bers included: Marriott, Clark, Potter, Carver, and Barney. Already four years of high school were behind us and we found that seniors weren't any different from anyone else. Our class officers were Miarriott, Baker, and Hastings. Clark be- came president of the Student Council with Barney filling the position of Student Court Judge. Potter became thinner and gn X 1 C1 thinner as copies of the White Hornet rolled off the press . . . Wirthlin was busy with Shadows as senior proofs failed to come in . . . Honor Society inducted its semi-annual members and elected officers. Marriott, President: Lum, Vice-President, Solomon, Secretary: Lynch, Historian, and Potter, Treasurer. The other new members were: Ballard, Baker, Wirthlin, and Hastings. The senior prom, Rudolph's Rendezvous, saw many gorgeous formals and fifteen Christmas trees in the gym . . . everything was sparkling and a blizzard that night added to the festive atmosphere. The Football Concession stand was headed by Lum and MacMillan . . . School was running smoothly under the new constitution . . . Mr. Iohnson's dollar deposits were dwindling fast! Troupers presented, Men Are Like Streetcars . . . Mr. Lo Cicero became principal of Lan- ning and we found we had lost one of our best friends . . . VVirthlin became a T.V. star on Iunior Town Meeting . . . and lVLr. Reidenbaugh told us to pay attention to history since we'll be a part of it someday. And so the year drew to a close with the Senior Girl's Breakfast, Senior Dinner, Baccalaureate and Graduation. And with a parting look at V. H. S., we venture out into the great unknown with the past four years cz wonder- ful memory. v ' H249 In 'W sf rv X, -as 4, ,
