Second, we give, devise, and bequeath to our superintendent, Mr. Brown, a soft bed to enable him to have a comfortable position while on night duty at Hotel Driscoll. Third, we give, devise, and bequeath to Mr. Crane one nice wig to cover his fast-developing bald spot. Fourth, we give, devise, and bequeath to our class dean, Mrs. Prince, a gallon of Cod Liver Oil to----need we say? Fifth, we give, devise, and bequeath to Miss Markham some turpen- tine and goose grease for future use in case of poison ivy. Sixth, we give, devise, and bequeath to Hiss Hosp a straight-jacket to hold her when the fire horn blows. Seventh, we give, devise, and bequeath to Mr. Wilkin some sleeping 'powder so he, too,'can sleep with the fourth year French class. Eighth, we give, devise, and bequeath to Mrs. Burton a false face-to use when she has her picture taken. Ninth, we give, devise, and bequeath to Miss Cook a purse to reim- burse her for what she has spent on giving parties this year. Tenth, we give, devise, and bequeath to Mr. Goeltz a new battery to help him start his car in the rain. Eleventh, we give, devise, and bequeath to Miss Beck a contract to teach maypole dances to the patients at Overbrook. Twelfth, we give, devise, and bequeath to Mr. Renn money to com- plete his correspondence course in dancing. Thirteenth, we give, devise, and bequeath to the Class of '30 the re- mains of our Class treasury. Fourteenth we give, devise, and bequeath to the Class of '31 a sash- weight to hang on the end of their nose. Fifteenth we give, devise, and bequeath to the Class of ,32 a map to find out their place. sHADows ix ' ALUMNI NOTES IN THE YEAR BOOK IN 1940 john Moore is doing well in the exporting business and is living in Brookline, IMassachusetts, a suburb of Boston. The Detroit Tigers seem to be headed for another pennant and Tip O'Neil still holds down the shortstop job against all comers. A card arrived from Florida the other day from Arthur Roberts, stating that he is in the hotel business and that the water is just fine. Crane Shepherd has just built a brand new house in East Orange so the tire business is still holding out. Edwin Lewis has just been appointed head coach of all athletics at Roselle Park High School. ,- Frederick Lange is still making teeth for Verona's 400 or anyone else who needs them. William Bandel is now head teller in the Verona Trust Company. Lloyd Anderson is now a headliner in the movies but says television is taking away all the business. Marion Crawford is no longer somebody's stenog but is Mrs. R. T. Steele. May King teaches English and 'History in the Dunmore, Penn. High School. Marjorie Smith has just returned from Africa but expects to resume her missionary duties in a few months. William Fismer is an industrial engineer but finds time to run out- board motors in his spare time. - Bertha Van Doren is a court stenographer in the United States Circuit Court in Newark. ' Florence Genser is the author and composer of several new hits that everyone is whistling. Lee Hedden's Syncopators still play for dancing at the Roseland Ball- room. He has been offered an engagement abroad. Marie Sonn also teaches school in one of the Bloomfield junior High Schools. Ruth Ashe is married and lives in Washington, D. C. She finds that housekeeping isn,t what it is cracked up to be.
