It is made up of all the lettermen of the glorious Verona athletic teams. Our aim during the year is to gather enough money, by any means we can, in order to bring the departing senior members their sweaters. We have been active in raising money by putting on such activities as basketball games, dances, and even a dinner. This year we are trying to get enough so as to leave some monev to start next year off on the right foot. This group of sophomore, junior, and senior girls are chosen on sportsmanship and leadership. Each new member is initiated in the fall during which time is called Dog Daysf, tlmagine me-looking like a dog.i We learn the rules and regulations of all sports and with this knowledge officiate at games after school. Activities consist of a party in the fall for the new members and one in the spring for the departing seniors. We also have hikes in the spring and fall and go bowling throughout the year at the local bowling alleys. Although we have lots of fun in the different activities, Miss Lowry ever reminds us that our main purpose is to promote good sportsmanship throughout the school. Pennacchio, M. M. Weir, B. Kern. D. Formerly a part of the Y-Teens, we have organized an independent club with our own name. Meeting Monday evenings under the leadership of Jean Stevenson, president, and the guidance of Mrs. Burrows, we have planned dances, parties, and other important events. Our other officers are Carolyn Loeffler, vice- president, Rhoduska Bright, secretary, and lda Mae Shook, treasurer. We celebrated Christmas, along with the Hi-Y, by packing baskets for the needy families of Verona. Also, in December we had a Christmas party for the members of the club. For the benefit of the whole school, we held a Sock Dance which was not only fun but entirely different from any other dance held at Verona High this vear. UMonday night again! another evening of fun at Hi-Yi' is a familiar exclamation heard from me. This group of boys, 24 strong, meet each Monday night under the capable guidance of Mr. Rockwell and Mr. Ireland. We are chosen from the high school on the basis of scholarship and good character. Our meetings consist of educational as well as entertaining aspects. Sports are uppermost in our minds with basketball, volleyball, and pingpong tournaments being held at various times throughout the year. The boys go on various trips-the most important being to the YMCA for an evening of swimming. The boys had a party at the end of the year for their best girls-and a good time of dancing and games was enjoyed by all.
