Our club was organized by Mr. VanCorder for the purpose of studying and learning the good principles of safe driving. With only one member holding a learners, permit in September, now more than half are practicing their driving. Various trips were taken throughout the year to acquaint us with the practical problems of driving. We also visited one of the local automobile service stations where we were given valuable instructions by one of the workers. Have you noticed Joe lntorre with a mashie? Well, he's the Golf Club,s president, hurrying to one of our exciting meetings. The club is holding as many of its meetings as possible outside. Practicing what? Well, what we have learned in our meetings about the game of golf. Mr. Tjiattis is giving us as much background as possible as we will all be par breakers someday. Along with' our enjoyment, the club is making a strong bid to enter the WPIAL Golf League, and put Verona's name into this sport in a competitive way. Even if this fails we willknow more about the exciting and interesting game of golf T f. gs, .. x .sn ,Q - H V ,fur Golf Club OFFICERS President-Joe lntorre Vice-president-Bill McKnight Secretary-William Tarassi V Sli X . A-lthough cooking is our main interest, Miss Smith is teaching us how to mend clothes, fix furniture, and most important of all, act at the dinner table. We have surprised our families with biscuits, pies, and other tasty things that we have made. We find this accomplish- ment much more satisfying than just lick- ing the pans after someone else has made the mixture. if I 1 rx ---as 1: -- K Y..- N .- -,- ,, lf- Art Club Sketch pencils, charcoal paper, paints, canvas, brushes, you've guessed itg itls Art Club.
