SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Betty Tucker Clay Buckingham Jane Wykoff Bob Radin Secretary Presidwzf Vice-President Treasurer CLASS HISTORY In September, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Forty-one, the dawn of the high school career of the senior class found us divided into two freshman groups under the lead- ership of Mrs. Gibbs and Mr. Graham. During this year the Hi-Y Club became a part of the activities of Vero High. Slowly but surely the time began to pass, and We became sophomores, having Mrs. Mur- phree, Mrs. Woods, and Mrs. Novoa as our leaders. We also witnessed the introduction of the Beta Club into Vero High. As time progressed, we became juniors and reached our half-way mark. At this time we elected Clay Buckingham, president, Eugene Ward, vice-president, Betty Tucker, secretary- treasurer. Our sponsors were Miss Taylor and Miss McClure, who directed the Junior Class play, GABRIEL BLOW YOUR HORN. Important social events of this period were the barbecue, given instead of the usual junior-Senior Banquet, and the Junior-Senior Prom, the music being furnished by the local Navy orchestra. The high noon of our career was reached when at last We became seniors. The officers for this year were Clay Buckingham, president, JaneWykoff, vice-president, Betty Tucker, secre- tary, and Bob Radin, treasurer. We elected Miss Batchelder and Mrs. Hancock our class spon- sors. As we looked around, we noticed a few vacancies here and there. The war had called some of the boys into the services of our country. Our class sponsored a series of dances to be held after football games. Characteristic Senior activities were Senior Class Play, Senior Skip Day, Baccalaureate Services, Class Night and, last of all, Commencement. After completing the ceremonies of graduation, with happy memories of the past and confident hopes for the future, we are calling it a perfect day. I
