Memolog 1966 Vernonia High School Vemonia, Oregon 1 We, the staff of theMemologof 1966, do hereby dedicate this edition of the Me mo log to Mrs. Mona Gordon, who, for the past 14 years, has been our school clerk and assistant to the librarian. Her favorite hobbies are dancing, traveling, art and knitting. She comments, I think Vemonia High School is a very good school with fine instructors and administrators. Most of the students are cooperative, and I like the way they take care of the school building and equipment. 2 Page 65 3 4 Mr. Welcome Rumbaugh Vocational Education Principal Mrs. Ora Bolmeier Guidance Director English and Psychology Mr. David Allison Science and Math Mrs. Dorothy Brailler District Librarian Mr. Bill Bowen Vocational Education Mrs. Ellen Hanson Mrs. Ann Westerberg Secretaries Teacher’s Aids Mrs. Paul Gordon Mrs. B. Members of the Vernonia chapter must have a grade point average of a three point and can be only Juniors and Seniors. However, Sophomores are accepted on a probationary basis only, with no guarantee of being voted in as a member the following year. This year’s N.H.S. had it’s annual tapping ceremony in the fall. Later, a food sale was held to raise money for letters and pins to be given to new members during the formal initiation. During National Education Week, the club gave apples to the teachers of their school. The final and biggest event was a Regional Convention held at Vernonia. This, under the direction of Chris Bender, was a get-together of all FTA members from the cities in their region for the purpose of further study of the teaching profession and the election of the 1966-1967 officers in the Region.
