CENSORED Bob Crowston Don Holsey and Danny Fletcher Dear Ruby, 1 know your duties as Secretary of State keep you forever on the run, but I think you would enjoy hearing how our class reunion came out. Back in '57 we decided to gather again in 15 years. Larry Johnson insisted that we use his home wherever it might be. Well, believe it or not, Larry went into stocks and bonds and emerged a highly successful stock broker. He is now a partner in the newly formed Lynch, Pierce, Fenner, Beane, and Johnson. He built a magnificent home overlooking the Columbia slough in Portland, and it was there that we of the class of '57 met. Following is an up to date account of what our classmates are doing now. One of the first to arrive was Ron Anderegg who recently rose to the position of top commercial artist, which title was formerly held by Jon Whitcomb. Accompanying him was his favorite model, Lorene Stiff, whose picture can be seen on this month's cover of PEEK. Jerry Bush was there in all his splendor. Jerry finally made All-American at ping-pong! Leola Anderson is a qualified lady truck driver and has the night run through Anaheim, Azooza, and Kook-a-Monga. Melvin Bailey, head scout for the Chicago Cubs, couldn't make the reunion. Seems he is in South Africa checking up on a rumor about a Karamojan that can bat with both feet. Early that morning the U.S. S. Kentucky docked at the Portland shipyards, and guess who was in command! Of all people, it was Aumiral Vicki Crossan Drips. I guess Bob Drips stays at home to take care of their kids. He hired a baby sitter, though, and was able to make the reunion. Ken Pederson landed a fine job in a department store, and has fiually worked his way up to the basement. Immediately after graduating, Allen Fowler went into the magazine business and is now editor and publisher of the new magazine, UMMMMM. Featured in this week's issue is the life story of Roy Eliott who has become the nation's foremost poet. Roy's latest work is In a Spreading Apple Tree. Glenda Normand has become a famous woman explorer, and recently took a trip up the Amazon in an inner tube. Jim Davis married a very rich farm girl and has become an expert tractor driver. He has also developed a new breed of chicken that lays a square egg. After many desperate attempts, Ester Kyser finally rose to the top and is now an excellent swimmer. Although he became completely bald at 20, Arthur Lamping is making millions with his special hair growing tonic-it works on everyone but himself, poor guy! Donna Buckley and Bob Crowston run a laundromat in Phoenix, Arizona. Their business slogan is Don't Keep Your Shirt On. Marjorie Reynolds is a test pilot for Boeing Aircraft. She recently went up 100,032 feet on an overloaded helicopter. Just back from the 1972 Olympics are star athletes, Marlene Shafer and Don Siedelman. Marlene set a shot put record of 25 feet with the 32 pounder. Don isn't exactly an athlete; he carries Marlene's shot for her when she isn't using it. Janice Hoyt is supervising an expedition in Antartica and could not make it to the reunion. Dick O’Brien, who plays right field for the Brooklyn Dodgers, astounded the sports' world last year; in ninety-six trips to the plate he struck out ninety-five times and walked once. This came very close to the all-time record set by Harvey Crudd in 1922. Harvey struck out ninety-seven times and then walked home. Denny Jepson, international financier, arrived with his tenth wife, the former Deloris Davis. Dfcnny is, at the present, financing a bridge across the Atlantic. David Cotton had great success in politics and is now ambassador to Lower Slabovia. DeeAnn Cook runs a large ostrich farm in South Africa. With her is Laurel Wyckoff who is engaged to marry a man who owns a diamond mine. Laurel assures us that she isn't marrying for money, just diamonds. Bill Barlow liked taking over Bob Spencer's job so much on turn-about-day fifteen years ago that he is now head janitor in the Empire State Building. Back from winning the Kentucky Derby was famous jockey, Jim McFarland. The fact that Jim got on his horse backwards didn't bother him much. Herb Bender has a patent on. and is manufacturing a special pair of crutches for people over 6 feet 6 inches He reports that business is just hobbling. Carol Ray and Betty Sauer are running a charm school in New York on Fifth Avenue. Their charm school has given them national renown and they have become the final authorities on how to be Chahming, Dahling. Don Holsey married an oil heiress and is now the proud father of ten girls and one boy. Down from her hidden cabin in the Arkansas hills was Margaret Miner who is making a study of the Warbling Sucklethroatcd Flustard: a rare bird. She has high hopes of spotting one soon. Jacalyn Higley and husband are trying to raise their own football team. So far they have one half back and four cheerleaders. Esther Hire is a leading dress designer and manufacturer of Frankie's Frantic Frocks. Jan Garner took up dancing, and has put Arthur Murray out of business. She is now is the hospital recovering from a dislocated sacro-iliac received when she was practicing her own version of the Ospylac Robert Sweitzer is making a hit on a car designed especially for service on the moon. He sells them to optimistic people everywhere. For people who hardly ever look at their watches, he has designed a watch that hardly ever keeps time. Well. I guess that just about takes care of everyone. Me? I make my living by buying things people don't want, and selling them to people who can't afford them. I don't make much at it. I hope you have enjoyed hearing about the gang. So long for now. Sincerely yours, Oh!!
