oun Fneshman classes wane lntenestlnq it On September 17 1954 fifty six freshmen eager with anticipauon entered Vemon High School Twenty seven were from Vernon thirteen from Bigger Township and sixteen from Sandcreek Township We elected Dale Boyd President Doris Kirby Vice President Jerry Shepherd Secretary Howard Scroggrns Treasurer Charlene Dudley and Gordon Schnadinger News Reporters and Mr Supp was our Sponsor As the school year progressed we began to know the students around us and we made many new friends during the year We soon had our few very close friends but we also met pupils from different schools and different parts of the county We began to feel united as a freshman class, and we worked hard at the activities we joined and the subjects we took. Of course, there was always that certain someone in whom we were especially interested, besides the many friends we had already met. For our class party we had a weiner roast. Yes, our freshman year began to progress, and with it we progressed in many ways.
