Two days later we were tn Greece. We thought we would sllde around the place for a couple of days We attended an excrtmg track meet When we looked on the Schedule we saw Larue Collett and Roy Beam s names hsted as runners It was a great start one of the boys was fuushed from the f1rst He trtpped onhls shoe strmgs at1d when the Dust settled there lay Larue We looked to the front of the race for our other classmate Roy Beam but he was no where rn stght Swrtzerland was our next stop The mlnute we got off the plane. we could hear the famous yodeltng for whrch Swttzerland IS noted we could hear rt far up m the mountarns Smce the top of the mountatns was above the clouds and we could not see who lt was we thought we would ask We were told lt was the famous yodelers Mary Ann Ebbmg a.nd Francrs Poer We do not know 1f they ever got down, We went to a Swtss Cheese factory tn Swttzerland where we met Larry Patr1ck, whose Job was keepmg the holes 1n the Swrss Cheese clean, Next came Par1s We v1s1ted the Opera House to see John Mack Herlman and Martha Hell man dolng ballet dancmg. They had been dancmg partners smce graduatlon They had been a great success We went through some of the wrecked bmldlngs of Parts and saw some beauuful plaster work whlch had been done by Rontue Boyd We looked mto one of the burldtngs Just lil nme to see Rontue take a head ftrst d1ve tnto a bucket of plaster He went through all that for the Poor People of We went on to London. We stopped for lunch rn a mght club and we were entertalned by musrc of the modern age Jump and Klck. The leader of the band was John Chatlle Glenn MCGlHr6 was the solo1st he had perfected the style of Elvrs Presley After that we started on our homeward stretch Next we landed H1 Alaska As we landed we saw a great exploston The sctenttst Charles Collins was trymg to perfect the new bomb so that he could ftnd out what was behmd the Green Door After leavmg Alaska we entered Canada We saw two mounues Gene Clarkson and Earl Bryant 1n pursutt of two cr1m1na1s who had stolen the1r g1rl fr1ends Therr dogs names were Wells and Drttman. At last we were back home m C3l1fOFDl3 We stopped tn at Camp Pendleton to VISII Kenny Hemrmngs He was sull there after many years of servtce All he had ume to say was It s Awful! The Marmes were gettmg the stage ready for a famous movre star Miss Sharon Lamb We dec1ded we should stay and see her slnce ll had been such a long trme smce we had seen her ll'l person. The show was grand. It was a wonderful feehng to realtze that we had seen all of our dear old classmates and had seen that they were dotng so well 1n ltfe We hope you enjoyed takmg thrs trrp wrth us 20 I . ' i I , . CLASS PROPHECY In the year of 1982 my cous1n and Ihad Just made our f1rst rrullxon and had dec1ded to take a world tour III order to celebrate As we started we never dreamed that we would soon see any of our classmates from the class of 57 As we got mto our tax1 to go to the axrport we nouced to our surprtse that thedr1ver was Larry Scroggms He told us that he had 12 ch1ldren and he had become a ftrm behever of the old saymg Cheaper By The Dozen Only the sad thmg was that soon he would have 13 I guess you could call thts a baker s dozen Soon we were at the axrport the captatn was Slafldlllg on the runway by the plane welcommg all the passengers aboard We knew that we were gotng to enJoy tlus tr1p when we recogruzed that face belonged to J 1m Ftsher one of our dearest fr1ends He had succeeded 1n fuushmg h1s term in the A1r Force and was a record breaklng f1rst class p11ot Hrs Co p1lot was none other than the Les R1chardson We would never have recogn1zed Leslie because he was a plump man of 250 pounds A neatly dressed stewardess was standmg tn the doorway of the plane. We were surpnsed to see ll was Jean Collett She sald she had led an excmng l1fe Twelve hours later we were III Hawan and we were taken to the famous Heart Break Hotel owned by the world known Dw1ght Caldon Murphy He was Jtlted and that 15 why he gave h1s hotel such a sad name. Hrs star boarder as we later found out was poor heart broken Joyce Tabor To take our bags to the room was Martha He11man she was marned to a mov1e actor and happy After we had rested we went for a sw1m on the beautlful Wallqkl Beach We saw M1ss Amenca who was also on a world tour She had recently won the tttle. It was wonderful to know that one of our Classmates had reached thls goal, for tt was Janet G1lrnore All of a sudden we heard the call for dxnner There should have been a warrung for stampede because we got m the m1dd1e of one cons1stmg of small ch11dren rtmning over toward the1r mother DOHC other Ihafl Dor1s Davis Claudme was pracucmg a new stroke, the dog paddle and she had ventured out too far Soon she was callmg for help She was soon saved by a handsome 11fesaver J1mrny Cornett He was S1111 s1ngle and he had dec1ded to make a career of hfesavmg. nat1ves who were under the gmdance of the noted m1ss1onary Rebecca Brown Inher career she had succeeded 1n C1V1llZ1Ilg 3 8755 nat1ves a very good Job That afternoon we went s1ght seetng m the swamps and I, Carol Mclntire, got my foot caught m a v1ne and fell 1nto a badly 1nfested Crocodlle stream. It looked as though there was no hope when out from the bushes came the great Croc ftghter Fred Yates He fought three w1th one hand and rescued me w1th the other After that event we heard a loud g1gg11ng noxse, whlch we mvesugated and found out that ll was the great laughmg hyena tamer Lou Randall. He always had been good for a laugh Next we dec1ded to go to Ind1a On our way to the market square we heard the allurmg sound of a flute When we got closer to the market we could see that It was a snake charmer We re cogmzed her by her charmmg brown eyes whlch were rolllng w1th the nme of the muslc It was Sue Armstrong We had heard about the famous elephants of Indra We dtdn t expect to see Paulme D1xon work1ng w1th them That part of the c1ty was falrly torn up because Paulme had a bad hablt of turnmg mrce loose 1l'l order to see the elephants stand on the bulldmgs We nouced m the horwon a band of men chasrng another band of men. The band that was bemg chased through theSafar1 Desert was headed by two men named Charles and Kmny Sanders who are brothers They had robbed the dlamond mme of Dorsey Davxs Th1s chase had been gomg on for 10 years Wlll II ever end? Donald Stark was the noted leader of the Forelgn Legxon m Indla It was a great army The week after that we were on our way to Egypt and as we flew over the Nxle we saw some thmg desperately trytng to reach land and after mqturmg we folmd that ll was another classmate of 57 Bobby Wolfmger the Channel sw1mmer who had sa1d I can do tt but dxdn t When we landed we were greeted by another mllhonaxre Leon Fa1r He had won hls m1l11on by play1ng penuckle We spent the rught tn Egypt and feasted on a splended meal whlch was prepared by the grand chef Joe Cook That IS one meal we w1ll never forget I9 . . . at n - - ' ' , .
