Our yesterdays are blocks with which we build foundations for the structure of today. —Harvey In the year nineteen hundred and thirty- seven. a number of freshmen made their way into Vernon High School to take subjects in preparation for their later years. This was the beginning of our separating for different roads in life. Some of us chose to take a busi- ness course, others chose a college entrance course. Our activities were similar to those of other freshmen classes. Once again, this last fall we gathered to- gether—only this time as Sophomores. We organized our class, electing our class officers as follows: President. Betty Burleigh: Vice- President. Vernon Chandler: Secretary. Edith Mummery: Treasurer. Kenneth Carr. As our class advisor, we chose Miss Deeley. Our activities this year have included a class party in the school gymnasium last fall, two home-made candy sales, a bake sale and the sponsoring of the movie. The Life of Emile Zola.” The Sophomore Class wishes to thank Miss Deeley for her helpful guidance to us this year.
