JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY Lurene Of 21 present members of the Junior Class 1 8 have been with us since the freshman year. Throughout our freshman and sophomore years, we have earned a fine sum of money with which to start our Junior year. Early in September we elected class officers as follows: President. Frank Bellinger: Vice- President. Miles Fitch: Secretary. Lurene Burton: Treasurer. Edward Peters. We un- animously re-elected Miss Davies as Class Ad- visor for our third year. We enjoyed a frankfurt roast at Davis’s in Burton the fall. Throughout the year we have obtained financial success selling candy. At Christmas time we sold Christmas candy. Since the election of officers for the ' Pilot'' the advertising managers have been busy get- ting advertisements. During May we concen- trated on literature. We hope you will like our tribute to Vernon. The Junior Class sincerely thanks Miss Davies for her painstaking efforts and help through the first three years of high school. Neighbor—Where’s your pa? Me also told us that Roy Burleigh and Junior Palmer had established a coast to coast airline service with but one accident in which Robert Stewart, pilot, and Dorothy Peters. Stewar- dess. escaped with slight injuries. The park at the Capital is now famous due to the landscaping of Fred McDermott. Bill Amann and Alex Jones are on fur- lough from West Point where they are both Lieutenants. We also found out that Thelma Shaver is Secretary to the Mayor of Lairdsville and that Helen Houck is teaching first and second grades and Gertrude Van Baasten is teaching Kindergarten in the Lairdsville Memorial High School. The Buss brothers. David and Allen, and Raymond Pohl have built an Engineering and Diesel College and are doing very well. He also told us that Bill Decker. Conrad Mercier. Raymond Morgan, and Ross Guy are operating busses from the Capital to the State Fair in the neighboring city of Augusta Cen- ter. Julia Smith and Ethel Snider are head nurses at the Francese E. Sherwood Hospital in Vernon. As we left for a tour of the State Fair the Mayor asked us to come back again to find out about the Class of ‘39. WBgarsii Ward C.—When 1 dance with you 1 feel as if I were treading on clouds. Dot.—Don't fool yourself, those are my feet. M. Krug—Mother. I want to go to the zoo.
