UNIOR VARSITY HOCKEY SQUAD-Standing: Compton Cmanagerb, Flatow, Weeks, Eastman, Rose, Clarner, Higgins, Rusell Elegner, Dowlin, Hastings, Mr. Hinman fcoachl. Seated: Schladermundt, Heffernan, Shields, W. Clark, Boothby, Taylor, Handley, ,alder, Knight, Ruth, Linder. .l.V. HOCKEY The fairly good season of the Junior Varsity hockey team was due largely to the fine coaching of Mr. Hinman and the ery good spirit of the players. The season started with a good Win over Kimball Union Academy on January 13. On the 16th V.A. lost a tough game J Mount Hermon when the Hermonites scored in overtime. On January 27 Cushing Academy won a well-fought game by ie score of 4-1. The game scheduled for January 30 had to be postponed because of unfavorable weather. When the J .V.'s resumed play t was against Putney, and the junior Wildcats were able to win despite poor ice. Two days later a squad from Deerfield .efeated the Vermonters on V.A. ice. A stretch of warm weather early in February forced a number of cancellations. On February 13 the team journeyed to Deerfield to play indoors. They lost but went down playing one of their best games of the season. The season was concluded on the Darthmouth rink in Hanover, February 27 when the squad was divided into two teams or games with their opposite ntunbers from Holdemess Academy. Each school came away with a victory. The team all season had the kind of spark that is good to see in a J.V. team. Returning members should make a name or themselves on the Varsity squad next year.
