SKIING On this year's J.V. squad there were nine skiers who returned from last year's group to be the basis of a fine team. Mr. Black once again did the fine coaching job that the has always done in the past. Although the team started the season with a loss to Dublin School, it returned strongly to beat Deerfield, Cardigan Mountain School, and Kimball Union Academy. After losing to Putney, the J.V.'s beat Deerfield and K.U.A. The team showed a great deal of spark and effort which helped them a great deal in the tight spots. The team was strong in the Nordic events, with Don Eriod, Larry Niles, and Harry Brown standing out in jumping, and John Brodhead, Rick Cooper, Dave Chamberlin, and Larry Niles standing out in cross country. Don Eroin sparked the team with his cheerfulness. Larry Niles made the greatest improvement over the season. As a whole the team had a good season. Its members will make a substantial contribution to next year's varsity, which will have to be rebuilt almost from scratch.
