NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY, an organization for juniors and Seniors who display good char- acter, leadership, and willingness to serve, as Well as maintain a good scholastic record, has for many years been an important part of VI-IS . The club's primary proj- ect has been to earn money for scholarships which are given an- nually to two of the Senior mem- bers. To earn this money, the club shared the popcorn conces- sion during the basketball games and furnished a dessert after each of the plays . Schroeder and Mrs . Liston and includes those Freshmen and Sophomores who have maintained a B average and shown the qualities of leadership, char- acter, scholarship, and service. Meetings were held monthly with a party at Christmas and a trip to the Natural Science Museum in january . The new members were inducted and the year was completed with a picnic at Mr . and Mrs . Liston's home at which time the new officers were elected. NJHS checks coats at all basketball games. I4
