For 18 years, Mr. Rogers has helped students to achieve their personal best in English, Creative Writing, and Humantities, to name a few of his Classes. With him, students explore the fascinating world of Tol-kein, sail down the lazy Mississippi Rover with Huck and Jim in Twain's Huckleberry Finn, and enter the fantastical world of A Midsummer's Night's Dream. The world of books and authors come alive in his classroom, where we are inspired to find new thoughts and insights. Mr. Roger's spare time is spent in two of his favorite pursuits, hunting and fishing. The time spent in outdoor sports is a time for quiet contemplation, providing insight into the world around him. As chairman of the English Department, and as a teacher, he dedicates much of his time to the whimsical pursuits of the typical student. For this, Mr. Rogers, we would like to thank you. We also offer our thanks for your time, effort, and understanding that makes our ex perience at VGHS complete. For these, and many other reasons, we dedicate the 1986 edition of the Blue and White to Mr. Jay Rogers.
