Zhe Rational Manor Society Last fall, members of the Otter Valley Chapter of the National Honor Society met with their advisor, Mr. Jipp, and elected officers: President, Ruth Baldwin; Vice-President, Judy Ryan; Secretary, Constance Thurber; Treasurer, Robert Bristol, and Student Council Representative, John Norton. In December, this organization sponsored the visit of the eleven Mexican boys and girls, members of the Experiment in International Living. The visitors lived in the homes of students of V. U. H. S., and were shown many aspects of life in Vermont. Five new members were welcomed into the organization at an impressive induction ceremony, on December 22. The new members, Carole Ashley, Elaine Barber, Jean Wheeler, Cheryl Larrow, and Sharon Ryan, were presented to the Student Body and the Faculty at an afternoon assembly. After the ceremony, the charter members gave a tea for the new members, parents, and teachers. At the beginning of the second semester, new officers elected were; President, Constance Thurber; Vice-President, Ruth Young; Secretary, Elaine Barber; Treasurer, Judy Ryan; and Student Council Representative, John Norton. Other projects sponsored by the National Honor Society were: a Books-for-the-Li-brary campaign and a Lane-Series pool.
