The X-Country team enjoyed a most successful season by winning eight dual meets while losing one. This was handed to them by the UVM Freshmen. The team, with the exception of Roger Gevry, was composed entirely of underclassmen. Prospects for future successful seasons appear bright. The team finished seventh in the State Meet which was held during the flu epidemic; four of the first seven winners were unable to compete in the meet. SOCCER TEAM Left to right: M. Thompson, L. An inexperienced Vergennes Soccer Squad composed primarily of freshmen and sophomores had a rugged eight game schedule with a record of one victory, four defeats, and three ties. While the record was not outstanding, the coach feels that much playing experience was gained by all squad members, a factor which should prove decisive in future seasons.
