THE FRESHMAN CLASS As the summer turned to fall, we met again our old and new friends. Only now we were freshmen. THE SOPHOMORE CLASS In September, sixty-six of us returned for our second year in V.H.S. The class officers were elected. The officers were: President, Clarence Birchmore; Vice President, Ronald Vincent; Secretary, Carolyn Danyow; Treasurer, Patricia Quinn. Student Council representatives were; Susan Benton and David Adams. Our class advisor is Mrs. Graves. Tragedy struck our class on September 15, 1957, when our beloved classmate Gary Smith was killed in a truck accident. Words cannot begin to express our loss. The class has voted a living memorial to the memory of Gary. The Sophomore Class is hoping to keep the spirit of the school high. Clarence Birchmore President

THE EIGHTH GRADE Class officers for the 1957-58 school year were the following: Douglas Miller, Prssident; Roy Tucker, Vice President; David Stephens, Secretary; Paul Tarte, Treasurer. David Stephens and Robert Truax did extremely well in Current Event Quiz on W.C. A. X. TV. Having made only two errors on sixty questions they qualified for the finals. In the shop and home ecomonics classes, the boys and girls have continued many interesting and worthwhile projects.
