Student Body Officers . . . Spirited Dons Being Student Body President of Verdugo Hills High School was the most rewarding experience I have ever had. Taking part in Leadership provided me with the opportunity to learn about and better understand myself and others. Our theme for the semester Fall T968-69 was Shake- a-Leg, Get Involved. The new marquee got our message across to the students and community and helped them become interested in the activities going on at Verdugo. The students were able to become further involved by attending many fine assemblies, put on by the student cabinet. After hours of planning and preparation, the Christmas Music Concert, the Hook, and the Atomic Energy programs were presented to the student body. Leadership turned many of the suggestions which students made into workable programs. Due to this, yogurt is now sold at lunch and for the first time ever, there was a dance after the homecoming game. We tried to provide the Dons with a way to get more out of school, by participating in special activities. They found that the more they became involved, the better they liked school.
