Purpose . . . shall be to uphold the highest ideals of true woman- hood, courtesy of speech and man- ner, simplicity, loyalty and honor, as well as to develop among the girls such activities as well as promote the spirit of service, good fellowship and democracy. Events . . . scheduled each year are the get-acquainted week and tea, Southern California AWS con- ference, backwards dance, mother- daughter tea, father-motheri daughter banquet with AMS, beard growing contest, installa- tion luncheon. Sponsors . . . of frequent assem- blies for girls. Programs on the 1965-66 agenda include a style show and commentary by an ex- pert model, and a lecture by Madame Nehru, relative of the late prime minister of India.
