The Babes made short work ot Oxnard and Santa Pauia in the tirst meet ot the T938 season, in a tri-city attair at Oxnard. They scored aimost twice as many points as their nearest competitor. They won every meet they entered with the excep- tion ot the Pusseii Cup meet at Carpen- teria, the CTF meet at Santa Maria, and the Southern Catitornia tinais, Coach Shannon kept the team weii baianced by distributing the strength throughout the sguad. Again the Prep cindermer won the coveted Ventura County championship at Oxnard. The Babes aiso won the 20-30 Pseiays and regained possession ot its gigantic trophy for another year, Bob Richards, George Peters, Dan Wiiiis, and George Cox were the ieading scorers tor the Ventura squad.

United they had one good pitcher and a comparativeiy good batting iineup. The TweTves, with a strong battery and pienty ot good pitchers and catchers, won the championship.
