An extensive campaign was carried on this Year by the Board ot Trustees in an attempt to acquire necessary capital tor the con- struction ot seven new buildings on the junior college campus. They were to include additional class rooms, an auditorium, shower rooms, a gymnasium, a more adequate shop building, and a bus barn, These necessary improvements in the educational plant were not made because the two-thirds vote necessary to carry the bond issue was not obtained. A strong majority ot the people, however, voted in favor ot the proposed construction. During the second semester Trustee Russell C Cook resigned from the board in order to devote more time to his duties as county supervisor, R, Mi McConnell was appointed to serve in his place for the rest ot the term. This proiect was exeeiient because it attorded praeticai appiieation ot eoior and design priricipies, The sets ot both the anriuai Spring Show and the i938 dramatic productions were designed by the art department. iihi iiiiihiii To create interest in borne iite, the Home Economics ciub was estab- iished and attiiiated with the Nationai Home Economics Association, its activities this year inciuded a tea tor the Future Farmers and a Christmas party tor the Sheridan Way kindergarten pupiis.
