Throughout the season the Pirates showed ampie spirit and tight, but were greatiy iacking in height and reserve power, which severai wins. When the annuai Ati-Western Conter- ence ,iunior Coiiege basketbaii team seiec- tions tor i938 were reieased, Ventura's Pirate squad did not rate any tirst stringers, but it had two men, idaroid Gragg, forward, and Eiisworth Suytar, center, on the second team.
