I El I. -I E 1: 1 1 171 BAND Let ' s give three hearty cheers for the band, under the direction of George Y. Wright. They certainly deserve a word of commendation for attending the games so faithfully and for helping to furnish extra pep with their music. Ventura Junior College was well represented in the Tournament of Roses Parade at Fresno by the band members, who were dressed in the colors of their Alma Mater and made good use of their instruments, annexing first place. Several numbers were presented by the band in the concert given on Novem- ber 2i. 1950. The organization also assisted the glee clubs in the rendering of a Medley of American College Songs arranged by the director, George W. Wright. From numbers I a simpler type ii has progressed to such the Symphony in I) Minor In Cesai Fram work which is played by the finesi rchestras ovei the world. And in addition to increasing in quality, I niz- ation has grown in numbers since the beginning ol the second semester, until now the group is a well balanced one. The entire orchestra furnished the Overture and Entr ' acte, Romance, for the operetta, The Count and the Co-ed. The) took pari in the November 21 concert. This musical organization also furnished numbers for the commencement ises.
